Ugly Type, a free cartoon display font by Karen Santiago Ramos of FSI FontShop International GmbH, uses massive rounded letterforms and a deliberately ungainly silhouette. Broad curves and narrow inner gaps make the letters look densely packed.

Snack brands or offbeat entertainment labels could use its squat, oversized forms to build a comic identity that feels direct and slightly mischievous. The same chunky construction suits children's posters and novelty merchandise, especially when the lettering becomes part of a mascot or illustrated scene. Those uses are tied together by the font's toy-like mass and soft edges, which make words resemble assembled shapes rather than neutral text.
