The Missing Link, designed by Benjamin O'Sullivan of FontShop International GmbH, is a free futuristic geometric display font with a severe, monolithic silhouette and a clearly engineered construction. Broad, blocklike letters use clean right angles, long horizontal bars, and flat-topped silhouettes, interrupted by sharp diagonal cuts and open sections that resemble joined metal panels or folded pieces of machinery.
It can turn title sequences into emblems for science-fiction worlds. That modular construction also suits game interfaces, electronic music artwork, and hardware branding, where the recurring notches can echo screen graphics, circuit paths, or the angular shapes of a product shell.
