The Enemy Gene is a free comic display font with tall, unruly capitals and the tense exaggeration of hand-inked horror lettering. Thick and thin strokes shift abruptly, and pointed serifs give the words a scratchy silhouette. Several forms lean or swell in unexpected places.

Comic book covers are its clearest setting, since the uneven contours resemble expressive title art rather than formal type. The same nervous drawing suits monster posters, punk merchandise, and game graphics built around mutants or strange science. In those settings, the lettering can become part of a creature emblem or laboratory sign instead of serving as neutral text.
