Romanesco by Brian J. Bonislawsky of Astigmatic is a free old-school display font shaped by sharp changes from thick to thin and a distinctly theatrical slant. Its tall, narrow letters feature pointed joins, blade-like upper curves, curling tails, and flourishes that sweep well beyond the main forms.

Fashion branding and theatrical posters draw on its elegant period manner for very different effects, with one suggesting couture labels and the other recalling ornate playbills. On invitations and album packaging, the long curling strokes can become part of a border, emblem, or decorative illustration across the printed surface rather than serving as neutral lettering.
