MidnightKernboy Bold by James Arboghast of Sentinel Type is a free heavy slab serif with blunt, tightly built letterforms. The broad strokes hold nearly even weight, and squared serifs give the text a dense, industrial silhouette. Large round dots introduce a striking geometric counterpoint throughout the lettering.

Packaging makes its stamped, solid shapes especially useful. Music posters, arcade graphics, and merchandise share the same appetite for compact lettering with a slightly offbeat machine-made edge.
