Luxi Sans Bold, designed by Kris Holmes and Charles Bigelow of Bigelow & Holmes Inc., is a free bold sans serif with sturdy strokes and clean contemporary shapes. Broad capitals and softly modulated curves keep it from feeling rigid.

Digital graphics are a natural medium for its robust, straightforward lettering, especially interface banners, presentation slides, and event screens. The same open curves and crisp joins also suit corporate branding and public information signage, where the strong silhouette can feel authoritative without borrowing the severe tone of a strictly geometric sans serif, yet remains personable in everyday civic and educational settings.
