Cretino-Regular الخط

Cretino by Ray Larabie of Typodermic Fonts Inc. is a free medieval blackletter font with extravagant calligraphic ornament. Broad, sharply cut letter bodies are threaded with hairline loops and long sweeping flourishes, creating a dense, theatrical silhouette.

Its looping strokes can mingle with engraved borders, heraldic creatures, or ornamental patterns on fantasy book covers and event posters. For album artwork and merchandise, the lettering can become part of the illustration itself, almost like decorative metalwork woven through the image.

I created this script in 2000 while testing a new drawing tablet. The new version of Cretino has revised kerning, tighter vertical metrics, improved accents, and broader language coverage. Some swashes have been cleaned up and refined.

This font includes a license that allows free commercial use, sometimes referred to as a desktop license. It allows you to install the font on a computer and use it to create posters, web graphics, game graphics, T-shirts, videos, signs, logos, and other works. Read the license agreement for details.
