Antikythera Expanded الخط

Antikythera Expanded, created in 2012 by Iconian Fonts, is a free Greek-inspired display font with broad capitals. Its heavy shapes are cut by sharp notches, triangular openings, and abrupt diagonal joints. Repeated wedge forms give the lettering a carved, mechanical edge.

A science-fiction poster can use these severe silhouettes to suggest a machine or coded artifact. The same angular construction suits game title cards, electronic music packaging, and event graphics built around technology or mythology. It is especially apt for audiences drawn to speculative worlds, ancient machinery, and geometric design.

A title font named after the Antikythera mechanism, discovered off the coast of a Greek island several decades ago. The device was a calculation instrument with engineering that preceded its time by centuries. Historians consider it the first computer, and no device with similar functionality and engineering appeared again for several centuries.
