Shady Lane by paintblack is a free outlined display font with towering, tightly packed letters and a rough hand-cut finish. Its uneven edges and shifting stroke widths keep the forms restless.

The jagged contours echo inked comic art and photocopied textures, making the font a convincing match for gig posters and underground magazine covers. Its narrow proportions also suit horror graphics and rebellious apparel, where the letters can feel scratched, warped, and slightly unruly. In music artwork, the outline can become part of an illustrated border or distressed emblem rather than serving only as a line of type.
